ProtAffin is developing biopharmaceuticals targeting protein-glycan interactions using decoy proteins. The importance of glycans in regulating protein function has been under-exploited as a basis for discovering and developing novel therapeutics for a long time, mainly due to the complexity of chemical synthesis of glycans. ProtAffin’s CellJammer® discovery platform is unique in generating glycan-binding decoy proteins with anti-inflammatory, anti-metastatic or anti-angiogenic activity and as such is a novel method to target protein function for proteins that naturally bind glycans.

CellJammer® platform

ProtAffin’s most advanced product candidate is PA401, a glycan-binding decoy protein based on IL-8ProtAffin. Using our CellJammer® discovery platform, we have modified human IL-8 to act as a targeted anti-inflammatory product.
