Partnering > Overview

ProtAffin is seeking collaborations with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies to use the CellJammer® discovery platform to optimally target proteins interacting with glycans, or if they are blocked from addressing a certain target by mAb-related IP. ProtAffin is primarily applying its technology to more than 40 chemokines involved in respiratory diseases and inflammation, but will work with partners with other targets under investigation. Additional details on potential collaborations are available on request.

ProtAffin also considers collaborations with companies targeting GAG-binding proteins with traditional modalities (i.e. small molecules and mAbs) who are interested in assessing the comparative activity of glycan-binding decoy proteins. More information on the unique pharmacological properties of glycan-binding decoy proteins is available under CDA.

ProtAffin is committed to generating clinical data on PA401 before considering partnering discussions with Pharmaceutical companies active in COPD. The MCP-1 and SDF-1α decoy protein programs are currently unpartnered.

CellJammer® platform

The CellJammer® discovery platform generates glycan-binding decoy proteins in inflammation and oncology. It is a novel biologics platform alternative to mAb and scaffold technologies.

MCP-1

The MCP-1 program consists of glycan-binding decoy proteins based on the human protein monocyte chemotactic protein 1 (MCP-1). MCP-1 is a glycan-binding chemokine which binds to the GPCR receptor CCR2, expressed on monocytes and macrophages.

SDF-1

A third program consists of glycan-binding decoy proteins based on stromal derived factor 1α (SDF-1α). SDF-1α is known to bind to receptor CXCR4 expressed on a number of cell types.
