Dr. Frank S. Walsh,  D.Sc. (Hon.) F.Med. Sci., FKC, FRSE

Dr. Frank Walsh is Chairman of the Supervisory Board of ProtAffin. Frank is currently CEO Ossianix Inc. in Philadelphia, USA. He was previously Executive Vice President and Head of Discovery Research Worldwide at Wyeth. He led more than 1,500 scientists across seven sites globally and managed an annual budget of $360 million. Prior to joining Wyeth, Frank Walsh was at GSK where he was SVP and Head of the Neurology Centre of Excellence for Drug Discovery (CEDD). He was also VP and Head of Neuroscience Research at SKB. Frank also has had a distinguished academic career, and was Research Dean at the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guys and St. Thomas' Hospitals (London, UK), and as the Sir William Dunn Professor of Experimental Pathology.

Simon is Chief Executive Officer of MorphoSys AG in Martinsried/Munich. Prior to co-founding MorphoSys in 1992, Simon held positions at the University of Cambridge, UK, at the University of British Columbia and in the Chemistry Department of the ETH in Zurich. Subsequently he became an Associate at the Harvard Medical School, Boston, and an employee of ImmunoGen Inc., where he worked on the development of antibody-based cancer drugs. Since 1992, Simon has led MorphoSys to become as one of the leading biologics companies in Europe and the US.

Tim Edwards is President and Chief Executive Officer of Cellzome, a privately-owned drug discovery company identifying a new generation of kinase-targeted drugs to treat inflammatory diseases based in Cambridge, UK and Heidelberg, Germany. Tim is also Chairman of the BioIndustry Association (BIA), the trade association for innovative enterprises in the UK's Bioscience sector. Previously, Tim was a Board Director at British Biotech plc, and before that was an Investment Banker in London specialising in the healthcare sector. This followed a 14-year period as an entrepreneur in other industrial sectors, managing and developing three privately-held businesses in which he was a major shareholder. From 2005-2007, Tim was Chairman of ReOx Limited, a biotech company spun out of the University of Oxford.

Michiel de Haan has been active in venture capital since 1980 when he founded Atlas Venture, a European-American venture capital firm that has been involved in more than 300 venture backed companies.

Currently he is General Partner of Aescap Venture that he founded in 2005. Aescap invests in emerging Life Science companies in Europe. Michiel is past chairman of the European Venture Capital Association (EVCA) and co-founder of the European Venture Philanthropy Association (EVPA).

Dr Bruce Booth

Bruce Booth is a Partner at Atlas Venture. He focuses on novel biopharmaceutical products, therapeutic platforms and innovative biomedical technologies. Bruce currently serves on the Boards of Atlas portfolio companies Avila, Bicycle, Miragen, Nimbus, OnQity, ProtAffin and Zafgen.

As a British Marshall Scholar, Bruce earned a Doctorate in Molecular Immunology from the Oxford University.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree summa cum laude in Biochemistry from the Pennsylvania State University. He serves as a Trustee of the New York Academy of Medicine, where he participates on the Executive Committee as Treasurer and helps manage the Academy's Endowment.  He also currently serves in several life sciences advisory roles, including UCB Pharma NewMedicines Science Advisory Board, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center's Accelerating Bench to Bedside effort, and LifeTech Boston seed-stage loan program.  Bruce has also authored numerous scientific papers and biotech venture capital review articles. 

Dr. Maciek Drozdz

Maciek is an Investment Manager at Entrepreneurs Fund. Before joining EF he was an analyst at Atlas Venture in Munich and an Investment Director at MCI.Bioventures in Poland. Maciek holds an MSc in molecular biology from A. Mickiewicz University, and a PhD from Zentrum fuer Molekulare Biologie in Heidelberg. He also has an MBA from Said Business School in Oxford.

Deborah joined SR One in 2005 and leads SR One's investment activities in Europe. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Onyvax and Syntaxin and is an observer on the board of 7TM Pharma. She was previously a Director of Addex Pharmaceuticals and PharmaKodex (acquired by Orexo AB). Prior to SR One, Deborah was part of GSK's Worldwide Business Development team where she sourced and evaluated opportunities in the CNS and GI therapeutic areas. Before moving to Business Development, Deborah built significant experience in product development through positions of increasing responsibility covering clinical development, medical marketing and business development support. Deborah holds a BSc (Hons.) in Pharmacology from the University of Bath, a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of London, and an MBA from Henley Management College.
